The Moorings

The Mooring 4800 is one of the workhorses of the charter industry. It is comfortable with 8 people in the 4 cabin layout, the 4 heads are adequate, and it's very easy to sail single-handed.

The yacht was built by Robertson and Caine and is also sold as a Leopard 48.

The boat replaced the Moorings 4600 in 2012 and has recently been replaced by Moorings 4500 or the Moorings 5000. The Moorings 4500 is a closer match.

The 4800 was the first boat I stepped foot on for my first bare boat adventure. From a new crew member to first mate, the boat was easy to learn and sail. The boat was comfortable with 8 people and easy to live aboard for a week or longer. A water maker would have been nice, and cockpit anchor control/measure. I didn't love the fridge/freezer setup, as the drawer types make it difficult to find things compared to a traditional fridge. Overall I really enjoyed the boat and would be happy to find myself on it again.
